POW#7 Brave new world Review

Brave new world, what comes to mind when you think of the words “Brave new world?” This is the title of a book I just recently read in school. In was published in 1931. For a book that got published than and predicted things that would happen to people’s minds for the future and becoming more of a computer like person this book was dead on. I believe there are those people that like different books like this but I don’t believe I was one of those people

I read a very different book this year. I didn't exactly like it nor did a lot of other people in my class. It was just one of those books that some people either get really into it or they really don't like it. I believe I was one of those people who really didn't like it. I can understand how there are those people who could really get into it with all the references in literature but that’s just not how I felt about it.

To start off, everyone was made to think they are happy and if they weren’t happy they ate something to make them feel what they thought was happy. I just don’ t understand how something that bad could come up for the future. I would honestly end my life if it came to people really not living life and knowing what was really living.

One of the main characters “Lenina” is supposed to be a person who can go out and have sex with whoever she wants and not worry about anything. Every night that she goes out she remembers to take her “birth control pill” and she was being harvested for her eggs. If I were to be harvested for my eggs, I would be really mad. I would start to question why I am really here. Is this the only reason?

To really sum it all up if you like to read and really want to take the chance at a syfy type of future than you might get into this book. It has a lot of good references to Shakespeare and some may like it. I would at least give this book a shot it will have a surprising ending. Don’t want to ruin it for anyone willing to read it
